บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษาปัญหาและแนวทางแก้ไขในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 สถาบันการพลศึกษา วิทยาเขตเพชรบูรณ์ ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสาเหตุของปัญหาในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษใน 4 ทักษะคือ ทักษะการฟัง การพูด การอ่าน และการเขียนของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 สถาบันการพลศึกษา วิทยาเขตเพชรบูรณ์ ที่เรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษบังคับพื้นฐาน (ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร) 2) เพื่อหาแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาในการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษใน 4 ทักษะคือ ทักษะการฟัง การพูด การอ่าน และการเขียนของนักศึกษา และ 3) เพื่อนำผลการศึกษาไปใช้เป็นแนวทางในการวางแผนจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ในวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ
ประชากรในการวิจัยคือ นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 สถาบันการพลศึกษา วิทยาเขตเพชรบูรณ์ ที่มีผลการเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษบังคับพื้นฐาน (ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร) อยู่ในระดับต่ำกว่า B จำนวน 114 คนโดยใช้แบบสอบถามแล้วประมวลผลด้วยโปรแกรมคำนวณทางสถิติ และนำเสนอข้อมูลที่ได้ในรูปแบบของร้อยละ และค่าเฉลี่ยนอกจากนี้ ผู้วิจัยได้จัดการอภิปรายสภาพปัญหาการจัดการเรียนการสอนในวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร ร่วมกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านภาษาอังกฤษจำนวน 3 คน และ ผู้ชำนาญการด้านการเรียนการสอน จำนวน 2 คน เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการปรับปรุงหลักสูตรวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างประสบปัญหาจากปัจจัยด้านคุณลักษณะของตัวผู้เรียนมากที่สุด รองลงมาคือ ปัญหาจากปัจจัยด้านสภาพแวดล้อม ส่วนปัจจัยด้านการเรียนการสอนมีปัญหาในระดับน้อยที่สุดนอกจากนี้ผู้วิจัยพบว่าความแตกต่างของเพศและสาขาที่เรียนไม่ทำให้ปัญหาและความต้องการของนักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างมีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ปัญหาทางด้านทักษะที่นักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างมีคือ ปัญหาด้านทักษะการเขียน อ่าน พูด และ ฟัง ตามลำดับส่วนผลการอภิปรายสภาพปัญหาการจัดการเรียนการสอนในวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร แนวทางในการปรับปรุงการจัดการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้นควรเพิ่มกิจกรรมการจัดค่ายอบรมภาษาอังกฤษ จัดตั้งชมรมภาษาอังกฤษ หรือจัดมุมภาษาและวัฒนธรรม

ABSTRACT
This research aims to investigate the problems and solutions in learning English for communication of the first year students at Institute of Physical Education Phetchabun with three purposes: 1) To determine the problems and solutions in learning English for communication with regard to four skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing, 2) to investigate a problem learning basic English of the first year students at Institute of Physical Education Phetchabun, and 3) to get the idea that benefit planning a learning activities of English for communication.
In order to carry out this investigation, the researchers distributed 114 copies of questionnaires to the first year students at Institute of Physical Education Phetchabun who get B- or lower grades from English for communication. Using a computer program for analysis process, the researcher analyzed the data obtained from the completed copies of the questionnaire in terms of percentages and means. Moreover, the discussion was conducted with 5 informants of English language and teaching experts as a guideline of English for communication’s study development and reply the needs of the learners.
This study found that the most intensive problem is the competencies of learners (lack of basic knowledge) and followed by the learning environment. The least intensive problem is the teaching methodology. Moreover, the difference of sex and program do not influence to the need and problems of the targets. The most frequently occurring lack that the students encountered in English learning is writing skill followed by reading, speaking, and listening. From the discussion of 5 informants of English language and teaching experts, they suggest English camp, and English club to support English activities to the students.
